RACHAEL LEWIS-KRISKY
RADIO & AUDIO
Audio taps into people's psyches in way that goes beyond photos and videos. It's not that visual mediums can't make a difference; on the contrary, they can be consumed on so many platforms that that accessibility has impact and power. But the unstoppable consumption of audio allows it to absorb into our minds and hearts, whether we want it to or not. Music has been shown to enhance cognitive abilities and memories in Alzheimers patients. That tune someone was whistling on the train locks in so that you're stuck humming it all day. A podcast we heard still gives us goosebumps years later. From my work in radio to audio storytelling, I love exploring this medium and using it to make a difference.
